Loans and requests

The NRL has been the biggest provider of ILL services in Finland since 1996. In 2012, over sixty per cent of the materials borrowed from university libraries were delivered by NRL. All Finnish university libraries, including their research centres, as well as all municipal libraries and almost all other public libraries are NRL’s customers.

Inter-library loans and electronic copies of articles are free of charge. The easiest way to submit a request is to use the Vaari-Finna database. The requesting library needs a patron barcode and a last name to log in. Libraries can also request material from the National Repository Library by e-mail or phone.
