Organisation
A meeting about the voluntary consortium of collection mapping was held at National
Library on 15 January 2010. At the meeting, it was stated that it is needed to continue
centralist the work of collection description, so it is important to continue the work
done during years 2008 -2009.
At the time of regrouping meeting the consortium consists of 15 libraries, which are: the
National Library of Finland, 8 university libraries, one polytechnic library, 4 special
libraries and the National Repository Library.
The National Repository Library is responsible for the administration of the consortium.
It is coordinated by a part-time planning officer. The database, as well as the platform
for saving and maintaining the records, is bought from the National Library of Finland.
The general assembly decided that an advisory board consists of one member of each
participant library and the director of the National Repository Library is the convener of
the meetings and the planning officer acts as a secretary. All libraries involved have
named a contact person or persons, who work with collection mapping in his or her own
library.
