Collection Map

The collection map project aims to improve the accessibility and scope of library materials. The project, which was organised by The Council for Finnish University Libraries, ran from 2003 to the summer of 2007.In this project, mapping and describing the collections was developed in order to create a suitable database for this purpose. At the beginning of 2008 the project continued on the basis of participation payment with the cooperation of the National Library of Finland and National Repository Library.

Aim

The aim of the collection map is to further develop descriptions of the collections of participating libraries. The ultimate aim of the work is to create a database of description details and further develop search and retrieval of the collection details and improve nationwide usability.
